70% of new Chinese models entering Western Europe land in just three markets

70% of new Chinese models that entered Western Europe during the opening quarter of 2026 landed in just three markets, according to Schmidt Automotive Research data.


Three OEMs dominated the Chinese volumes, accounting for three in four new units, but an additional "stealth three" also threaten to make waves going forward.


Meanwhile, Chinese OEMs recorded another record share of the region's new-car market during the same quarter and surpassing Korean OEMs' total and coming to within 3.5 percentage points of equalling Japanese brand models.
